ADIDAS FIBA WORLD CUP / CAMPAIGN
Harden heads to China for the FIBA World Cup Tour.
The Challenge
The international Basketball Federation (FIBA) held its annual tournament in China in 2019. Working with the fine folk at Roundhouse, we created a retail tool kit for adidas retail shops across China. The creative centered around key participating adidas athletes, the host country and the international gathering.
A key challenge was to utilize an existing pattern already implemented on the Adidas FIBA product line. We found a way to enhance the pattern and align with the Creator Brand’s craft principles. Influence from Chinese Calligraphy and brush painting provided our sense of motion with basketballs as the brush. By reapplying the flag elements through stencils, we completed the raw look our client was after while honoring the established pattern.
