HUNTING CREEK / PRODUCT STORY AND IDENTITY
A legendary pre-prohibition whiskey gets revamped for present day production.
The Challenge
Part of Southern’s strategy to reignite North Carolina’s whiskey tradition includes resurrecting legendary brands of their past. Hunting Creek was top of the list.
Character Building
Drawing inspiration from the adventurous spirit of yesteryears, we embarked on a quest to craft a character inspired by the enigmatic figure gracing the vintage label.
Illustration
We teamed up with the talented illustrator Bob Venables to conjure a legendary hunter, complete with a mythical backstory destined to fuel storytelling and ignite a passionate fan following.
Character
A sharp shooting Annie Oakley of sorts. She is in her mid 30s, middle class, some wrinkles and realness.
Attire
Chore jacket, a wide brim hat bent in the front, large leather boots, and a thick homemade dress. Worn from use, with a little dirt.
Gear
At her hip will be a bandolier belt with a set of shells and a leather shell pouch. Her dog with a collar.
Look and Angle
Our heroine is viewed from below, strong and heroic.
